Got your attention with that one, eh?
Well, don't worry; this is not going to become an "X-Rated" site or in any way pornographic.
Healthy understandings about human sexuality and the necessity of physical touch and even pleasure is not about "morals"; it's about being human and learning to trust and communicate our feelings.
The most loving physical unions are profoundly spiritual experiences.
When I was seven years old, my mother handed me a book that was supposed to teach me the Facts of Life. The pictures showed a variety of barnyard animals engaging in intercourse and, nothing unusual being seen, I thought it was a book about animals "playing" until I came to the image of an ovum and a sperm. At seven they were simply "a snake and an egg" and I "kind of got" that they were mysteriously hidden "somewhere" inside boys and girls. A scary concept at that age. The information was obscured by scientific jargon and my parents never did get around to explaining the book in a way I could understand. I went on to become a totally clueless "young lady" until friends at school explained a few things!
Things are different now, thank goodness, and my sisters have had many talks about love and sexual intimacy with their own children. Thanks to them, I know there will be a little less fear about normal hormonal responses, a lot more respect for women and, of course, fewer accidental pregnancies in the world.
You won't find "preaching" here any more than you'll find "porno". I've searched and will continue to research book lists and the Internet for information and will post it here as links to books, videos and yes, even a discreet online specialty store from which you can order condoms . (Yes, they even stock chocolate mint flavored ones!)
TEENAGERS need information that is scientific and current. I suggest any teenager in need of answers and peer support check out The Scarlet Teen and Teen Wire for honest, unbiased answers and insights about anything to do with sex and sexuality. Given what is found in movies and on television these days, and the rate sexually transmitted disease travels, I don't think it's smart to be deprived of this knowledge.
Adults, see book list (just started) below and links such as this one to Dr. Ruth !
We are here to be human for a little while... enjoy it!
